About Us
Ceryx Medical are the revolutionary business behind a unique bioelectronic technology that could change the way heart failure is treated.
Heart failure is an incurable, chronic condition. 20 million people in Europe and the US are living with heart failure, and it is consistently the number one cause of hospitalisation in over-65s. Current therapies are largely limited, and half of patients die within five years of diagnosis, while the direct costs of treating heart failure consumes around 2% of the global healthcare budget every year.
This is where Ceryx Medical steps in with a technology that could change the way patients with serious heart problems are treated.
Employing cutting edge biomimetic design principles and patented electronics, Ceryx created a range of smart bioelectronic devices that speak the same language as the human body. When integrated seamlessly into the body’s homeostatic systems, these specialist medical devices can interpret physiological signals and generate a natural response in real-time, simulating the body’s natural functions. This technology can be used to restore normal function in heart failure, as well as other conditions including hypertension, spinal cord injuries and endocrine disorders such as diabetes.
Using this unique core technology, Ceryx has created Cysoni, it’s unique heart failure device. Cysoni continuously monitors the patient’s cardiorespiratory system, processing this information and generating precisely timed impulses, which optimises the beating of the heart. Cysoni restores cardiac performance; thus impacting heart failure symptoms; boosts physical performance, relieves stress on the heart and allows repair of the damaged cardiac tissue. Cysoni will change the lives of the millions of people who suffer with heart failure.
Ceryx are based in Cardiff, UK. After five years of rigorous laboratory testing and pre-clinical evaluations, Ceryx is building towards a first in human trial of their device, starting in 2022.
