BEAMS detects the tonal sounds of bedside medical device alarms, differentiating between device and alarm type, whilst eliminating irrelevant background noise. It is the only acoustic monitoring system for tonal alarms regardless of device manufacturer. Through the integration of BEAMS, hospital settings are showing up to 92% reduction in bedside medical device alarm response times. The detailed announcements provided by BEAMS allow nursing staff to effectively and efficiently manage responding to multiple bedside monitor alerts, enhancing patient outcomes whilst supporting staff workflow.

With BEAMS patients are kept safe by ensuring that staff are fully aware of all bedside alarms and which alarms are a priority, even if they can’t be heard behind a closed door. Patient care is improved, tonal alarm fatigue is mitigated, the hospital environment is improved and efficiency savings provided giving staff time back to care for their patients.

BEAMS is currently in use across NHS and private healthcare providers in the UK. It is installed onto multiple types of medical wards including, but not limited to, paediatrics, oncology, cardiac, renal, neurology and general medicine.
