Department for International (DIT) Life Science Trade Advisors from a variety of countries will be on hand throughout the exhibition for one-two-one meetings with UK companies as well as helping to facilitate meetings with international buyers.

Saudi Arabia
Aya Maatouk

Aya has been working with the Saudi Arabia-Department of International Trade at the British Embassy since Jan 2017 and she leads on the Health Care sector at DIT. She is pharmacist and her previous experience was with the UNFPA.

Saudi Arabia plans to develop their capability in healthcare, this involves adding 32,000 new hospitals beds and establishing medical cities to deliver sufficient and quality healthcare to the rapidly growing population. UK is supporting this through their digital health solutions, healthcare systems, clinical experience, training opportunities, and many more.

Aya’s aim to engage the UK healthcare expertise into the Saudi Arabia market in alignment with the vision 2030. And she is interested to speak with any UK healthcare company who is interested in this market.

Indonesia
Cyntia Ratnawati

Cyntia Ratnawati (nickname: Cyntia Lee) is a pharmacist who works in DIT Jakarta as Healthcare & Life Sciences Senior Trade Advisor. She is passionate about assisting UK Healthcare and life sciences companies interested in the Indonesian market. Moreover, she is a long-life learner, willing to listen to others and deliver the best to her clients. Her background as head of the department pharmacy at one of the biggest private hospitals in Solo, stakeholder engagement specialist in Halodoc, and active council member of Indonesian Young Pharmacist Group have brought her to understand Indonesia's healthcare market dynamics.

Kuwait
Gula Al Sharafi

Gula is the Senior Trade Adviser at the British Embassy, Kuwait with over 25 years of Kuwait experience in international trade, government relations and business development. Gula has been responsible for monitoring activities in projects concentrating on high value opportunities and has covered several sectors such as Healthcare, Retail, Life Sciences and Food & Drink among others. Gula has extensive experience of working with foreign companies that need the local knowledge while being able to connect and communicate with the international business environment. With her diverse experience in different sectors and through her proactive commercial engagement, Gula continues to add value to UK companies by providing advice, guidance and market introduction services to UK companies, while also supporting trade missions and VIP visits – predominantly around the strategic campaigns, but also as and when opportunities arise.

Maria Alejandra Perez

Maria Alejandra’s main work has been to support and guide foreign companies in the development of projects and commercial activities in Colombia. Likewise, she's currently working with regulatory agencies, ministries and all sort of stakeholders in the Colombian healthcare sector, to eliminate market access barriers for UK companies. Additionally, she has experience with regional governments through international cooperation healthcare projects (PPP). She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Public Policy at LSE.

Marie has over 20 years’ experience in helping UK companies develop their business in Switzerland, with a focus on Life Science & Healthcare.

Shadi Abdollahian

Senior Trade Adviser leading on Healthcare and Life Sciences with the Department for International Trade based in the British Embassy Tehran/Iran. Masters of International Business Economics from University of Westminster in London, with more than 10 years of experience of linking Iranian companies to foreign companies, Shadi has developed an excellent network of key stakeholders and is committed to raise the market awareness between the two countries.

Sarah Peng

Sarah covers Healthcare and Life Science sector in Pakistan -- one of the priority sectors in the country. Prior to joining DIT Sarah worked with the FCDO in an economic prosperity programme on investment climate. She has a private sector background in business development roles.

Italy
Claudia Giunchiglia

Claudia works for the Department for International Trade in Italy and leads on Life Sciences and healthcare trade promotion. Her work develops around the following main strands: 1) support to UK LS exporters and investors interested in accessing the Italian market 2) identify emerging local health trends and relevant commercial opportunities.


LS plays a strategic role in Italy’s industrial production and economy, accounting for 11% of its GDP. Italy’s regionalised public healthcare system has been heavily impacted by C19 thus highlighting its modernisation needs to face future health challenges and ensure patients access to new technologies for prevention screening and healthcare assistance through digital solutions and remote assistance.
Claudia will be happy to discuss market opportunities in relevant subsectors such as: medical devices, pharmaceuticals, digital health.

Juliana Caires

With a background in International Relations and Global Health, I have been working for the British Government for the last 6 years, based in São Paulo - Brazil. I have previously led on political analysis and government affairs strategy for the British Consulate in São Paulo, and my current role is focused on regionally leading the DIT teams on trade promotion and overcoming market access barriers for British companies in the Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors.

Naz Demir

Naz offer extensive expertise defining trade policy and economic analysis, as well as providing subject-matter expertise to support businesses across a range of sectors to access new international markets. Informed intuition and an instinct for what works, underpins her ability to conceptualise and implement market entry, and devise business strategies and structures that generate sustainability and profitability. Aiman Abidi

Aiman Abidi was born in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia before moving to England in 2002.Aiman Abidi was born in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia before moving to England in 2002.

Aiman acquired his Masters in Computer Sciences from the University of Surrey. He has since worked in the private sector for the likes of Amazon UK, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Xerox.
He joined the department for International trade in 2015 covering the Healthcare and Education sectors.

Aiman currently leads the Life sciences sector and is based at the British Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Iraq
Maan Alhduathi

Maan is an International Trade Advisor in the Department of International Trade in Iraq. He covers the healthcare sector and his priority is to introduce UK companies to the Iraqi market and engage them with local scientific bureaus where possible. He also supports companies who are in business in Iraq and supports them when they face barriers.

Maan will be joined at Arab Health by owners of Scientific Bureaus to introduce and facilitate UK companies partnerships and any future business.

Nicolette Flores-Caspell

Nicolette Flores-Caspell works as a Trade and Investment Adviser at DIT Jordan.

Nicolette leads on the Healthcare, Education, Food & Drink and Retail Sectors; and helps promote UK Export Finance, Foreign Direct Investment and handles Market Access priorities. She also supports the team in the implementation of the UK-Jordan Association Agreement.

Nicolette has a background in Nursing and has an intensive experience within project management, customer service, marketing and training across healthcare, financial and automotive industries internationally, having worked in different countries such as the UAE and UK.

Peru
Rodrigo Acevedo

Rodrigo “Rod” Acevedo is the Life Sciences & Healthcare Officer in DIT Peru, at the British Embassy in Lima. He leads DIT Peru’s relationship with public and private healthcare institutions, and is interested in expanding the market for UK companies in the pharmaceutical, medical equipment and digital health sectors.

From his role, he is constantly scoping for new business opportunities in Peru, as well as developing new pipelines for quality and innovation in the local healthcare scene.

Abhishek Jha

Abhishek is currently the India FDI Lead for healthcare and life sciences sector for UK northern powerhouse regions. As part of his role, he works closely with the UK healthcare and life sciences ecosystem and northern regions to showcase the investment opportunities to leaders of the Indian industry. He has been associated with DIT, since 2014 and has previously worked as an Events, Visits and Campaign Manager for Western India and Trade Advisor, Healthcare and Life Sciences sector.

I am UK DIT Commercial Officer based in Turkey since September 2022. Have a commercial background with 14 years of experience in Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry, particularly Medical Devices Companies such as GE Healthcare and Becton Dickinson (BD). Carried out Turkey as well as regional marketing and sales roles during this time.

Jon Perez

Jon Perez is the Trade Manager of the Department for International Trade in Manila, managing Healthcare and Tech. Jon is an international relations professional with multidisciplinary experience in strategic communications, digital and public diplomacy, bilateral government relations, trade and market access and programme management of development interventions in the business environment and trade space.

Liz Bautista

Liz has managed the UK’s Better Health Programme in the Philippines (2019-22), which piloted models of Universal Health Care mechanisms for Policy, Education and Digital Health. As Health Advisor, she provides wider strategic policy and programme advice for bilateral collaboration on health systems strengthening (incl. with multilateral partners such as the WHO and the Asian Development Bank); pandemic response and recovery; and disease prevention and surveillance.

Mexico
Julio Evaristo

Julio is the Head of Education, Health and Life Sciences for DIT Mexico. For the past 5 years, he has applied his vast knowledge across the sectors by helping UK companies to establish in Mexico, strengthening existing bilateral relationships and raising awareness of potential opportunities in Mexico.

He is in charge of implementing the strategy for the education and health sectors, which aims to improve the awareness of innovative UK solutions into the Mexican market. He also has experience in working on Market Access issues to support the entry of new UK companies into the country enhancing the overall sector ecosystem.

Julio has previous experience in both public and private sector and holds an International Business Degree from IPN.
