Anna Parker, Head of International Sales, Paxman Coolers Ltd

With an MSc in International Business Management, Anna held a variety of international business development roles in the healthcare sector prior to joining Paxman in 2017.

As Head of International Trade, Anna focuses on mobilising Paxman’s network of distributors and direct report Regional Managers to improve patient access to scalp cooling in rest of world markets.

Anna has been instrumental in bringing scalp cooling to markets historically having little awareness of the treatment such as Argentina and Mexico, whilst continuing to nurture Paxman’s numerous established markets. Anna has played a major role in instigating clinical trials around the world, collaborating closely with thought leaders and clinicians within the oncology space.

A keynote speaker at innumerable business launch events and attending major international oncology and supportive cancer care conferences around the world annually, Anna ensures best practice for scalp cooling as a means of side effect management is shared across Paxman’s network and beyond. She is passionate that every applicable cancer patient should have access to scalp cooling treatment, giving them the choice to retain their hair through chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy-induced hair loss is widely recognised as one of the most traumatic side effects associated with cancer treatment, and yet it is still one of the least explored. PAXMAN are changing that. The clinically proven PAXMAN cold cap system has helped over 100,000 cancer patients in more than 25 countries worldwide to retain their hair during chemotherapy.

Following graduation from Huddersfield University with an MSc in International Business Management, Anna worked in variety of international business development roles in the healthcare sector facilitating companies’ global growth prior to joining PAXMAN in 2017. Since then Anna’s focus is to continue the mobilisation of PAXMAN’s global network of distributors to improve the accessibility of scalp cooling, ensuring that every applicable cancer patient has the opportunity to retain their hair through chemotherapy.

Anna has been instrumental in bringing scalp cooling to markets where historically there had been little awareness of the treatment e.g. Argentina, Mexico, whilst continuing to nurture existing established markets such as the Netherlands, Brazil, Germany. Anna played a major role instigating clinical trials at the National University Hospital, Singapore and the subsequent scalp cooling relaunch following close collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders and clinicians within the oncology space.

PAXMAN achieved regulatory clearance of their scalp cooling device in Japan earlier this year. The market approval was granted by Japanese regulatory bodies, similar to the FDA in the USA and based on a successful clinical evaluation at five leading Japanese cancer clinics, testimony to Anna’s dedication and support of PAXMAN’s global partner and clinical partners in the territory.

The scalp cooling market in South Korea is another project, which is benefiting from Anna’s in depth knowledge. Following numerous market visits, she is currently involved in setting up clinical trials with PAXMAN devices, which will enhance knowledge and scalp cooling efficacy for Asian patients.

She has contributed as a keynote speaker at innumerable business launch events around the world, ensuring the latest scalp cooling news, best practice and protocols are shared across the PAXMAN network and beyond. Anna attends many major international oncology and supportive cancer care conferences around the world annually, supporting distribution partners and amplifying the scalp cooling word.

As a key member of the International trade team Anna is passionate to empower cancer patients with choice and access to scalp cooling and will continue to work closely with all partners, building awareness of scalp cooling and access to this important treatment in the years ahead.

Investment in people, biological research, clinical trials for both regulatory and marketing reasons, plus product development, is the key to PAXMAN’s future growth.
