GlucoRx BioXensor: Non-Invasive Blood Glucose monitoring using RF and Multi- Sensors.

Overview

The presentation will highlight the developmental journey of the non-invasive sensor by the Cardiff University team with Wellcome Trust:

  • The various generations of NIBGM prototypes.
  • The 5 Clinical studies with the emphasis on the last steady on 50 subjects at Swansea University under Prof Steve Luzio and Prof Steve Bain and the results.
  • The 4th Generation GlucoRx BioXensor
  • Improvements in the 4th Gen using: RF and Multi-Sensors Modulation of various artifacts AI and Neural Network optimisation Reducing the size Ergonomically designed with Human factors. Battery management Design to Manufacture Opportunity to measure other bio-vitals Smart phone integration, Apps and b
  • Gen 4 GlucoRx BioXensor Clinical Study planned for by the end of 2022.
  • Future opportunities to use the device for other analytes

Speaker: Dr Sam Hefford, Research Associate, Centre for High-Frequency Engineering, Cardiff University.

Dr Sam Hefford received the BEng (Hons.) degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering and PhD degree in Microwave Engineering from Cardiff University, UK. His research utilises microwave resonant structures and involves the development of measurement and processing techniques for magnetic and dielectric materials. He currently works as a research associate at Cardiff University in the Centre for High-Frequency Engineering.
