Abtrace is a health tech start-up, created in 2018, based in London which uses machine learning to transform how long-term health conditions are detected, monitored and treated.

Over the last 3 years, we have built a team of doctors, data scientists, software developers and regulatory and commercial experts with extensive experience in clinical algorithm development, validation and commercialisation.

We see a new paradigm of data driven integrated care across the world - where patient data and communication can be rationalised to continuously manage healthcare in a proactive and preventive format moving away from the current reactive, disease centric provision of care.

• An intelligent layer on top of EHRs: Proven ability to extract and process large clinical datasets in a complaint and secure way enabling the system to suggest actions based on an individual’s medical history in the context of a wider pool of data points.

• Unlocking the full potential of medical records: Going beyond clinical coding and ontologies, we have developed state of the art models that learn directly from both structured data and text to extract information and then use a wisdom of the crowds’ approach to build clinical accurate algorithms

Managing Existing Disease

We are providing a Proactive Monitoring tool which streamlines all primary care monitoring needs in an automated way. This CE mark software as a medical device can scan the entire patient record to identify the multiple reasons why a patient might require monitoring tests and support clinicians deliver these in a single appointment whilst signalling early signs of deterioration of existing conditions and the onset of new ones. Early Detection of Cancer

Building on experience delivering integrated clinical decision support software (CDSS) driven by primary care EHR data, we are developing a predictive module for early detection of cancer together with clinical partners providing care to over 500,000 patients creating the world’s largest free-text primary care dataset. This functionality will support clinicians with early referrals and reduce delayed or missed diagnoses using machine learning and key free-text information in health records.

Traction and Growth

We are now on a growth phase with more demand for our solutions, increasing our team and accelerate our market penetration and expanding product functionally.

We have secured agreements for our product to be used and further validated at GP Practices covering 25 sites and a population of over 300,000 patients expanding on the existing pilots.

Abtrace has also raised over £3 million in Innovation funding since incorporation and a VC led £1.1M seed round in March 2021
