CAREFUL is a clinical collaboration app that improves productivity in healthcare: addressing the efficiency of patient flow, enabling faster decisions, and saving hours of clinician time with digital communication, accountability and task management. It gives users a real-time understanding of priorities and needs at the patient, team and organisational level.

CAREFUL does for Healthcare what Slack and other productivity tools provide for optimising productivity in daily life and business. But with functionality that mirrors clinical workflows and replaces the informal and inefficient ways that doctors, nurses and patients currenttly collaborate across teams, boundaries and time.

Existing hospital and clinic information systems were built to handle order management and billing: clinicians are frustrated by their lack of functionality in real time, and therefore must perpetually resort to lists on bits of paper, corridor conversations, sticky notes, handover sheets, WhatsApp etc. which are all disjointed, unsecure and cause errors. CAREFUL has been built and is driven by clinicians and technologists with vast expertise in the NHS and internationally who have witnessed this firsthand.

The CAREFUL platform works alongside and complements legacy systems. The CAREFUL clinician app allows clinical teams to use any device to share and prioritise key tasks, bringing together all stakeholders on a single platform. It is an agile, mobile-first, plug and play cloud (Azure)-hosted app with an intuitive and appealing user interface. A connected patient facing app is in development which will allow patients and families to see the relevant parts of their journey within the institution, with collaboration continuing after discharge so that true continuity of care can be realized.
