Medovate Ltd is a dynamic medical device manufacturing company based in Cambridge in the United Kingdom. We are the first company dedicated to the development and commercialisation of innovative new medical technologies from within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).

Spun out of the NHS in 2017, we operate on a unique business model. Working with the NHS, we identify high potential innovations and take them through the development and manufacturing process to turn revolutionary ideas into regulatory approved and commercially available products.

Our highly skilled and award winning team support innovations through a comprehensive 6 stage development process including development, manufacture, clinical trials, regulatory approval, market launch and sales.

As an ISO 13485 certificated company, Medovate's aims and quality objectives are clear and simple. To design, develop and manufacture high quality medical devices in compliance with ISO 13485: 2016, all UK and European regulations and FDA requirements. This certification enables us to develop and bring to market products relating to its portfolio focus areas of anaesthesia, intensive and critical care, airway management and surgery.

Medovate proved this unique business model with the launch in 2020 of our first technology, SAFIRA®: SAFer Injection for Regional Anaesthesia. Despite the additional challenges of a global pandemic, the 12 strong team of engineers, regulatory professionals, project management and commercial professionals successfully secured both FDA clearance and European CE marking for the class IIb medical device.

We were named ‘2020’s Leading Innovators in Medical Device Development’ in Global Health & Pharma’s (GHP) 2020 Global Excellence Awards. SAFIRA® was awarded “Patient Safety Innovation of the Year’ at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2021.
