DDC Dolphin – a specialist sluice/dirty utility room equipment manufacturer and global supplier – will be joining the UK Pavilion at MEDICA 2021 (15 – 18 November 2021) to showcase their ground-breaking new medical pulp macerator designed to tighten infection control in hospitals.
Since 1991 the company has been investing in new technologies to bring care facilities and hospitals the most efficient, safest solutions for their sluice/dirty utility room provision.
The market-leading Pulpmatic Eco+ macerator – the culmination of more than 30 years' experience in sluice room product development – is DDC Dolphin’s latest sluice room machine to be brought to market. The technology builds on the company’s expansive knowledge of user and facility requirements to launch a new standard in infection control.
Described as the most environmentally friendly, economical and hygienic macerator on the market, the device has been intelligently designed to minimise the risk of ward outbreaks and keep both patients and staff safe. It features enhanced chemical dosing and powerful antimicrobial surfaces to prevent infection – and is uniquely fully contactless, requiring only a hand sensor to operate, thus reducing the risk of cross-contamination. By preventing risks of ward shutdowns due to infections, the device can also help to reduce hospital budgets.
James Smith, our International Business Development Director said: “Maintaining effective infection control procedures continues to present a major challenge for hospitals and healthcare settings globally, and has been vastly exacerbated by covid-19. Our new macerator presents our most environmentally friendly and economical solution yet and has been designed to support hospitals and care homes in tightening their infection control. We are delighted to be joining the ABHI UK Pavilion at MEDICA 2021, where we’ll be showcasing our unique solution.”
Medical Pulp Macerators are an important part of care facilities, providing a robust and hygienic solution for the complete disposal of human waste, ensuring infectious materials do not come into contact with patients or clinicians.
The DDC Dolphin Pulpmatic Eco+ is the company’s most economical machine yet, macerating waste even finer and using very little water and energy to operate. It is designed to suit medium capacity wards and care homes, presenting the next generation of maceration technology. The lid and front panel all have MicrobeSafe+ surfaces with advanced antimicrobial and antifungal additives with easy access hand sensor situated at the front of the machine. The Eco+ also has a digital screen which provides animated operation instructions, cycle status information, as well as fault resolution guidance.
Paul Benton, Managing Director, International at the ABHI added: “We are delighted to be joined by DDC Dolphin at MEDICA, where they’ll be showcasing their ground-breaking technology, designed to strengthen infection control. Clearly this remains a huge challenge for hospitals globally, and we look forward to supporting them in their goals to bring the benefits of their new technology to more patients and clinicians globally.”
