UK manufacturer Haemoband Surgical – who specialise in the development and supply of colorectal medical devices – will be joining the UK Pavilion at MEDICA 2022 (14 – 17 November 2022) to showcase their innovative range of band ligation and endoscopic products.
The company’s primary device, the Haemoband-Plus, is the first multi-action, pre-loaded disposable ligator for the treatment of internal haemorrhoids. It was developed by Consultant Surgeon and company Medical Director, Essam Ghareeb.
The technology – being showcased at this year’s MEDICA – has been designed to allow for more accurate application, to reduce treatment times, and all from a single-handed device. Rubber Band Ligation is highly regarded as an efficient and safe treatment for symptomatic 1st -3rd degree haemorrhoids. The procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis and is proven to be straightforward, easy and economical.
At MEDICA 2022, Haemoband Surgical will also be launching their new HB-SleeveLUX Proctoscope, a single use, self-illuminating and fully disposable proctoscope. The innovative and patented Locking Technology prevents accidental removal of the Proctoscope when in use, thereby eliminating unnecessary patient discomfort. The Comfort Sleeve provides the clinician with the flexibility to position the Proctoscope at any angle, making the procedure more comfortable for the patient and easier for the clinician.
General Manager, Michael McMullan said: “In developing our new HB-SleeveLUX Proctoscope our primary aim was to improve patient comfort while at the same time creating new generation instrument that would be easier to use for clinicians. We’re looking forward to joining the ABHI UK Pavilion at this year’s MEDICA trade fair where we will be showcasing our pioneering range of band ligation and endoscopic products. We’re keen to meet new partners and highlight how our technology can improve patient care and deliver enhanced benefits for clinicians.”
Developed by surgeons, Haemoband-PLUS is clinically very efficient. Its multi-action handle means clinicians need one hand to control suction, release, and reload bands. This leaves the other hand free to hold a proctoscope and allows the user to work alone. The design of Haemoband-PLUS also allows for accurate applications, reducing the need for additional procedures.
The dual-action handle allows the clinician to simply press to the marked line on the trigger, which induces suction. The clinician then fully compresses the trigger to release the band. A transparent nozzle end gives maximum vision throughout the procedure, while for patients the device promises enhanced comfort.
Rubber band ligation offers one of the most important, cost-effective and commonly used treatments for internal hemorrhoids. At this year’s Medica trade fair, visitors will be able to see how Haemoband Surgical is working revolutionise the procedure.
MEDICA is taking place from 14 – 17 November 2022 and throughout the show, Haemoband Surgical will be located on the ABHI UK Pavilion - Hall 16 Stand 32K. For more information, visit https://haemobandsurgical.com/
