Isokinetic is returning to Arab Health 2023 to represent London’s scientifically-led, innovative approach to sports medicine and orthopaedic rehabilitation.
The International Medical Group, specialising in the management and recovery of sports injuries and recognised as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, will showcase how its personalised and cutting-edge sports rehabilitation programmes can benefit patients worldwide, including remotely.
The Group with its flagship clinic – based in London’s prestigious Harley Street Medical Area (HSMA) – aims to offer a new approach to the way in which sports injuries are managed for patients in the UK and worldwide.
At the core of its strategy is an inter-disciplinary approach to recovery.
The clinic brings together a multidisciplinary team comprising of doctors and experts in sports injury rehabilitation who work together to create a personalised service, placing the patient at the very heart of recovery.
It has developed a revolutionary and exclusive method that divides rehabilitation and recovery into five distinct phases, all performed on-site in its state-of-the art facilities, including a pool for hydrotherapy, a functional gym, and the ‘Green Room’, a biomechanical lab where patients practice neuromotor exercises, gain awareness of the way they move, correct bad movement habits and work on the prevention of re-injury.
The rehabilitation process terminates with on-field rehabilitation (OFR), where the patient is adequately prepared for the sport demands via a sport-specific re-conditioning programme. This process is informed by the use of GPS technology – today considered the gold standard approach in monitoring training load – and heart rate (HR) monitoring.
Isokinetic uniquely applies this technology, pushing its use to maximum effect to help patients recovering from a sports injury, supporting them in achieving “maximal functional recovery possible” (MFRP) and reaching levels of performance in many cases higher than before injury occurred.
The recently launched Isokinetic Virtual+ sports medicine clinic aims to bring the experience of its Doctors and Physiotherapists directly into the homes of patients around the world.
Andrea Tartaglia, Managing Director Isokinetic London, Isokinetic Medical Group said: “The Arab market is very important for us as we look after a good number of professional, semi-professional and active patients looking for the best in sports medicine and rehabilitation. We also help casual patients who regularly come to London to look after their health, including preparing for the skiing season or resolving any problems they might have with mobility or muscle skeletal issues. We are excited to join the HSMA delegation at Arab Health to showcase how our cutting-edge programmes can benefit patients in the UK and beyond, including our new remote clinic.”
Isokinetic boasts 35 years’ experience in sports injuries, post-surgical treatment, and orthopaedic rehabilitation, utilising innovative techniques from all over the world to treat a wide range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal problems. Patients benefit from a unique blend of physical therapies, manual therapies and technology-based interventions, including tens, laser therapy, hyperthermia, cryotherapy, and electrostimulation, all centred around and tailored to their specific needs.
This innovative approach supports the therapeutic ambition of each patient, aiming at a full recovery and, in many instances, levels of performance possibly superior to the ones they had before injury, helping them attain maximum functional recovery in the shortest time.
Since 1992 Isokinetic Medical Group has been organising the largest and most prestigious international sports medicine conference in the world, which has become a landmark for all those who deal with orthopaedic rehabilitation and sports medicine. The upcoming 30th conference edition, which follows the theme of ‘The Pursuit of Excellence’, takes place in London on 27-29th May 2023.
