Armstrong Medical – a UK manufacturer of innovative respiratory products for use in Critical Care and Perioperative settings – will be joining the UK Pavilion at MEDICA 2021 (15 – 18 November 2021) to launch their therapy-enhancing heated ventilator circuits.
Founded in 1984, Armstrong Medical – part of the Eakin Healthcare Group – is a worldwide supplier of innovative respiratory products for Critical Care and Anaesthesia. The company’s aim is to support clinicians to deliver safe and effective therapies as quickly as possible, to reduce unnecessary waste and to safeguard patients from treatment risk.
Following 30 years of innovation, and at a time when the world is battling a global respiratory disease, the company will be launching their new AquaVENT® VT heated ventilator breathing circuits at this year’s MEDICA Trade Fair. The breathing circuits, used in Critical Care settings for life-support mechanical ventilation, have been designed to intuitively manage humidity within the breathing circuit.
Optimal humidity is necessary in the management of invasively ventilated patients. However, with active humidification systems, water in the expiratory limb and machine-end breathing filter is a common problem, thus necessitating frequent filter changes and management of water vapour that condenses in the tubing limbs. Armstrong Medical’s vapour permeable technology resolves this challenge. It eliminates the need for a water trap and reduces the number of filter changes, allowing the maintenance of a closed breathing circuit for longer. This means clinicians can focus their time and efforts where it’s needed – on their patients.
Michael Denver-Beautement, Head of International Sales, said: “As a company, our focus is to constantly innovate to meet evolving healthcare needs, improve patient outcomes and streamline the delivery of care. We are excited to launch AquaVENT® VT on a global stage at MEDICA. The UK has a strong reputation for reliability and quality, exhibiting on the ABHI UK Pavilion helps to reinforce the quality of our products internationally. Our aim as a company is to enable the clinical team to be able to concentrate on the patient not the equipment, which should help to improve outcomes.
Meanwhile, the unique structure of the expiratory limb tubing achieves a high Moisture Vapour Transition Rate (MVTR), providing a dry expiratory limb under any conditions of use.
Paul Benton, Managing Director, International at the ABHI added: “We are excited that Armstrong Medical has chosen to launch their state-of-the-art ventilation circuit technology on the ABHI UK Pavilion, where they’ll be joined by some of the most forward-thinking UK companies across the medical world. We look forward to welcoming them this year.”
MEDICA is taking place from 15 – 18 November 2021 and throughout the show, Armstrong Medical will be located on the UK Pavilion - Hall 16 Stand K42.
